Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for junior high and high school students.  Tri-M is a program of MENC:  The National Association for Music Education, the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of music education.  Through its many programs, activities, publications, and conferences, MENC addresses all aspects of music education and works to ensure that every student can be a part of a balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality program of music instruction.

The Normal West High School Chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society held its inaugural Induction Ceremony on Monday evening, March 29.  The 2010 Inductees include Haley BeMiller, Sam Birsa, Ashley Breen, Chelsea Davitt, Jordan DeBo, Matt Dobill, Joey Gavlas, Ross Hinrichsen, Ruth Kenney, Mark Kletz, Amber Livingston, Libby Mayberry, Chynna Miller, Collin Myers, Hayden Ringer, Bethany Salm, Nick Schafer, Claire Spychalla, and honorary lifetime inductee, Mr. Tom Eder, Principal.  The Induction featured the talents of Natalie Sherer, Pianist (NCWHS, ’07), and guest speaker Dr. Brian Russell of the IWU Music Education Faculty.  The event was attended by family and friends of the inductees, and it was hosted by Lisa Preston, Chapter Advisor, and Diane Turek, Sara Williams, and Ryan Budzinski, NCWHS Music Faculty.
