Jazz Band

Jazz Band I and Jazz Band II offer many students the chance to improve their musical skills. Each band holds rehearsal twice a week after school. They perform at concerts, festivals, and contests during each semester. In the short history of the school, the Normal West Jazz Band I has earned the opportunity to share the stage with such notable groups as:

• Illinois State University
• Illinois Wesleyan University
• Elmhurst College Jazz Bands

In the Spring of 2000, the Normal West Jazz Band I was asked to participate in a Jazz Festival cruise to the Bahamas. Many of the members of each ensemble have received “outstanding soloist” awards at festivals.
